Barbers & barbershops
Bookkeeping that keeps up with a busy shop.
Walk-ins, cash, chair rent, product on the shelf. Barber money moves fast and it moves in cash. We keep it straight every month so you always know what the shop really made.
Two kinds of barber. Two kinds of books.
From $250/mo
You rent a chair
You're self-employed. Your books are your income, your rent, your tools and your tips.
- Cash, card and app payments all recorded, not just what hit the bank
- Chair rent matched to what you paid, cash or card
- Clippers, blades, product and station costs categorized
- Card tips and cash tips on their own line
- A monthly report with your real profit and a tax set-aside number
Premium: $400–$700/mo
You own the shop
You're a landlord, a retailer and maybe an employer. Your books have more moving parts.
- Chair rent income from each barber, tracked by who paid
- Commission payouts and payroll categorized (we don't run payroll, we book it)
- Retail product sales, cost of product, and the sales tax you collected
- Several bank accounts, cards and a payment app, all reconciled
- A P&L that shows how the shop is really doing, chair by chair if you want it
The cash problem, solved simply
Barbershops run on cash more than almost any other business. That's not a problem for your books. Unrecorded cash is.
Cash you never record is income you can't prove if anyone asks, and cash you spend on blades and product is a deduction you lose. The fix isn't complicated: a daily total in your booking app or a note, regular deposits into a business account, and supplies bought on the business card. We take it from there.
- 1Log one number a day: total cash taken. Tips included or separate, your call, just be consistent.
- 2Deposit cash into your business account weekly. Pay for shop supplies with the business card.
- 3We reconcile the deposits to your log and your app reports every month, and flag anything that doesn't add up.
What monthly books catch
Clean books pay for themselves.
Most stylists don't know where their money goes until someone watches it every month. When we do, we find things.
Money slipping out
Subscriptions nobody uses, double charges, supply runs that add up faster than you think
Numbers your CPA can use
Clean enough to plan with, like whether an S corp would save you money

Barber questions
Most of my money is cash. Can you still do my books?
Yes. Cash just needs a record. Deposit it into your business account regularly, log your daily cash total in your booking app or a note, and we work from that. Cash that never gets recorded is income you can't prove and expenses you can't deduct, so the habit is worth building.
I own a shop with four chairs. Which plan is that?
Shop owners with renters, staff or retail usually land on our Premium plan, $400 to $700 a month depending on accounts and volume. Commission categorization and payroll journal support are included. You get an exact quote on the free call.
Do you file my taxes or my Georgia sales tax?
No. We're bookkeepers. We keep retail sales and sales tax collected separated so your CPA has clean numbers for the filings, and we hand them a tidy QuickBooks file at tax time.
I use a booking app you didn't list. Does that matter?
Usually not. We work from your app's monthly sales, tips and fees reports, and we connect the apps QuickBooks supports directly. Tell us what you use on the call.
