About Clean Cut Bookkeeping

I genuinely enjoy accounting. Numbers, graphs, dashboards, and organizing financial information is something I've always been passionate about.

In 2021, I married my wife and we started her hair salon business, The Bohemian Hair Studio, together. Like many first-time business owners, we knew very little about running a business, bookkeeping, or how taxes actually worked. We were learning everything as we went.

From the beginning, we naturally split responsibilities. My wife handled the front end of the business (working with clients and building her brand) while I handled the back end. That's when I started doing her bookkeeping. I spent time reviewing her payment platform, organizing income and expenses, and maintaining her bookkeeping software so everything stayed accurate and up to date. When tax season came around, we always had clean records ready for our CPA, which made the entire process much easier and far less stressful.

We've been doing this consistently for the past five years. During that time, I saw firsthand how stressful bookkeeping can be, especially for hair stylists and barbers who already work long and demanding hours. We also learned how difficult it can be to find a reliable bookkeeper or CPA who truly understands salon and barbershop businesses (although we're fortunate to have a great CPA now).

That experience is what led me to become a bookkeeper for the beauty industry. I genuinely enjoy this work, understand how valuable it is to have someone you can trust handling the financial side of your business, and I want to help other stylists and barbers succeed.

Running a salon or barbershop is hard enough. My goal is to take the stress of bookkeeping off your plate, keep your books clean and organized, and help you feel confident about your finances so you can focus on what you do best: serving your clients.
